Who we are

Founded in 2014 by Zephir Thomas, Pelicano Coffee Roasters began as a small passion project, steadily growing into one of Brighton’s most beloved coffee spots. When the brand faced disappearing due to the previous owners relocating abroad, it was given a new lease on life by Fabio Lauro, a longtime friend of Zephir and a fellow enthusiast of specialty coffee. Both Zephir and Fabio come from a rich background in the world of specialty coffee, sharing a commitment to quality and community.

Fabio is a pioneer in Brighton’s coffee scene, known for his work in creating spaces for the community to come together over great coffee. In addition to his work with Pelicano, he’s also the visionary behind brands like Trains Post Coffee and Wolfox Coffee. With his dedication to building welcoming spaces and bringing top-quality coffee experiences to the city, Fabio’s involvement has ensured that Pelicano remains a true Brighton institution and a leader in specialty coffee.
